iTunes 8.1 now available

We were talking about it yesterday afternoon and we have it ready to download: iTunes 8.1 , the next update of Apple’s media content manager, is ready.

Accompanied by the launch of the new generation of the smallest iPod player in the family, the new shuffle with Voice Over technology allows song titles and playlists to be voiced in 14 different languages ( including Spanish, of course ).

This version of iTunes has also focused on optimizing application response times: according to Apple, access to large content libraries, browsing the iTunes Store, substantial improvements to iPod or iPhone syncing and optimizing photos for syncing have all been significantly improved .

According to the company itself, this is the list of novelties from 8.1:

Allows synchronization with iPod shuffle (third generation).
It allows other users to request songs in iTunes DJ mode.
Add the Genius sidebar for movies and TV shows.
Improves application performance when downloading iTunes Plus songs.
Provides autofill function for manually managed iPods.
Allows you to import CDs with the same sound quality as iTunes Plus.
It includes numerous accessibility improvements.
Enables separate deactivation of iTunes U and iTunes Store from the “Parental Controls” pane

If you also access the iTunes update via Mac OS X Software Update , you’ll find another surprise: a new version of FrontRow that improves compatibility with the new iTunes.
