Good news that comes from an internal note from Apple and collected by 9to5Mac, where they advise us about the extension of warranty for the Apple Watch Series 2 .
This warranty extension will apply to smart watches with battery problems or spontaneous restarts. As of this week it is possible to request a repair, even if our watch is not under warranty . This is at the discretion of Apple’s technicians who will determine if they are indeed within this extended warranty.
At the moment, it only applies exclusively to the Apple Watch Series 2, leaving the other models behind. The date of this warranty starts from the date of purchase of the Apple Watch, from then on, the 3 years will apply.
One of the problems in which some users have raised their voice, has been the swelling of the batteries , where these began to increase their size, even to take off the face of the clock.
Of course, this can be quite dangerous, where the number of affected people compared to sales is very low . However, if you think your watch is one of those affected, you can always go to an Apple Store to have it checked.
Another problem that some users face, is referred to a series of spontaneous restarts . This problem could be software, but in some cases, it has not been solved by doing a restore. So it would also fall under the extended warranty issued by the Californians.
The internal note from Apple and collected by 9to5Mac, details the following:
“Apple has determined that under certain conditions, some Apple Watch Series 2 (42 mm), may experience sudden shutdown or defective batteries”
We recall how Apple also applied a warranty for the Apple Watch in the color space-gray l, since these were suffering from an internal problem. Also for the watches where the back was detached or unplugged.
So if you have an Apple Watch Series 2 with any of these issues, you can go to an Apple Retail Store to see if your watch is covered by this extended warranty.
Have you had any of these problems with your Apple Watch?
