iPad 6 May Have A8 Chip Processor and Touch ID
The next generation of the apple company’s tablet, the sixth already, which has been called iPad 6 for the time being, is already starting to arouse rumours among the various specialist media. This generation, according to new information, will see the light this year , while the third generation of the iPad Mini and the rumored 12.9-inch PRO will not be launched until 2015.
This data was provided by Ming-Chi Kuo, the well-known analyst at KGI Securities in a research note. According to Kuo, the iPad Air could be the only one to see a generation renewal in 2014 , version that would incorporate new functions and features, such as a new more powerful processor of new generation as would be the A8 chip or fingerprint sensor (Touch ID) we first saw on the iPhone 5s.

As for its launch, the analyst considers that the new iPad 6 will most likely be launched during the third quarter of the year , following the calendar of presentations established by Apple in recent years.
The 12.9-inch iPad and third-generation Mini will have to wait
So, as we were moving forward at the beginning, the new generation of Air would be the only one that Apple would launch in 2014. For its part, the third generation of the iPad Mini, as well as a new model with a 12.9-inch screen which we have already discussed on previous occasions, would have to wait until 2015 to be launched on the market.
From the IBtimes website they collect some of the most relevant data provided by Kuo in his research note. In this note, the analyst considers that the U.S. company could have delays in the development of new iPad Mini Retina models because they believe that Apple has among its plans to launch an improved Air in the near future , although it does not venture to give specific dates.
As for the 12.9-inch iPad, Kuo believes the company will accelerate its development, although it is unlikely to be introduced in 2014, as is the case with the next generation Mini.
While Kuo was the first analyst to say that Apple might not update the Mini this year, some have talked about the 12.9-inch iPad . Rhoda Alexander, an IHS analyst last month, has already said that this new model may not be released soon and that we don’t expect it this year.
In closing, Kuo also said that the Cupertino-based company has given higher priority to completing work and development of the operating system for the iWatch , device expected to be launched this year.
Do you think that this year Apple will only launch a new generation of iPad?
