How to sync iPhone with a Windows computer
You’ve probably heard of the Apple ecosystem, and one of the most remarkable facets of that term is the ability to have complete automatic synchronization between devices. If you have an iPhone, but don’t have a Mac, don’t worry. In this post we will show you how to sync an iPhone with a Windows computer. All this without using iTunes , a program that in this operating system does not work as well as we would like.
Through the iCloud website
It is true that a Windows computer does not synchronize as automatically as a Mac, but fortunately we have tools offered by Apple so that in the operating system of the PCs we can also manage what is related to our iPhone or iPad. One of my favorite options is the iCloud website, from which you can perform multiple tasks.
From your browser you can access this website, and after entering your Apple ID and password you’ll see that a panel appears on the screen where you have access to different settings and applications that you have on your iPhone. For example, if you want to check the emails you have in your account registered in Mail, you can do so. You can also access your photos, contact list, look at calendar events and even read, edit or delete notes.
One of the most interesting features is iCloud Drive, which is Apple’s cloud storage service that you can access from all Apple devices and, as you can see, also from others like a PC. This is useful for file management when, for example, you want to move a large file from the iPhone to the computer and vice versa.
You’ll also have access to the Search app, where you can locate your Apple devices if you lose them or think they may have been stolen. The last interesting option is Account Settings , where you can change your Apple ID password, see your device serial number, or restore files, contacts, and calendars.
The iCloud application for Windows
A proprietary Apple application on Windows? Is that possible? Well, yes, and actually it’s not the only application Cupertino’s company has for this operating system, but it’s the only one we’re interested in for what concerns us now. We have to emphasize that, from this editorial staff’s own experience, we believe that the web is one of the best methods for synchronizing iPhone and Windows, but we can’t let the application go unnoticed.
Once you download the iCloud for Windows application from the Apple website, install and configure it, you’ll see that you’re allowed to synchronize Microsoft Edge bookmarks, mail, photos and iCloud Drive files. Again, the iCloud Drive option will create a shared folder on your computer where you can access all the files you have stored in the Apple cloud. Photos are synced in a similar way, but you won’t have access to photos on your iPhone that aren’t uploaded to iCloud.
