If you have an iPhone and a Mac between your Apple devices, you’ve probably experienced an incoming call on your iPhone and then your Mac has started ringing in unison. This is because we have the Calls on other devices option enabled in iOS, or Calls from iPhone option enabled if you change your settings from your Mac.
In the vast majority of situations this feature will be more annoying than anything else, and can distract you from other tasks you’re doing on the Mac. Luckily, there are a couple of things you can do to keep your iPhone calls from replicating on your Mac , one from your computer and one from your iPhone.
If, on the other hand, you are one of those who take advantage of this function, in case you ever want to temporarily disable it, we explain a little trick to stop it quickly with a single click . Interested? Read on to find out how.
How to disable replicated iPhone calls from macOS
The process is not at all complicated, and it is more a question of knowing where the function to be deactivated is located, for this you only have to follow these steps:
- 1º In macOS, open the FaceTime app.
- 2º Inside the app, go to the menu bar and click on FaceTime.
- 3º From the drop-down menu bar, select Preferences. A new window will open.
- 4º Here we will look for the option Calls from the iPhone, and we will press on the blue tic to uncheck it.
After that, just close this window and your iPhone calls will never ring on your Mac again unless you want them to.
How to disable replayed iPhone calls from iOS
If you find it more convenient to turn off the option of having your Mac ring every time your phone rings from your iPhone, there’s also the option to turn it off. Here’s how it works:
- 1º In iOS, open Settings.
- 2º Inside Settings go to Phone.
- 3º In Phone, look for the option Calls in other devices, and click on it.
- 4º We must slide the toogle that says Allow in other devices.

If you’re one of the users who takes advantage of this feature, but sometimes you need to turn it off so it doesn’t bother you while you’re doing other tasks, there’s a way to quickly turn it off by activating the Do Not Disturb mode on your Mac.
We have to expect that in the event that we activate this mode, not only will the replicated iPhone calls stop ringing on the Mac, but all notifications will be disabled until you deactivate it again. In any case, it’s a quick option to avoid being disturbed in macOS.
You can do this from System Preferences-> Notifications-> Do Not Disturb , where you can also set whether you want a specific preference for the Mac to sound or not while it’s Do Not Disturb active.
However, the fastest option is to slide two fingers on the Mac trackpad or mouse from right to left to open the notification center, and from there, on the Today tab , you will find a toogle at the top to activate the Do Not Disturb mode. If you don’t see it just scroll up and it will appear.
3 different options for enabling, disabling and managing iPhone call reception on the Mac , which is sure to help prevent you from being interrupted again while working from your computer, and prevent you from going crazy with all your Apple devices ringing at once.
