If you’re a person who easily sticks to the sheets in the morning, you probably hate your alarm clock that can easily be turned off. That’s why we recommend an application to install on your mobile phone that will act as a rather beastly alarm that will prevent you from falling asleep in the morning thanks to its features.
Alarmy is an app that will force you to get out of bed if you want it to stop ringing. This solves the problem we may have and that is that we turn off the alarm and say ‘5 more minutes’ . After saying this it is always more than 5 minutes and then we are late for work or school. That’s why we must resort to different solutions that we find in the App Store and that replace the traditional alarm.

As soon as we enter Alarmy we will be asked for different permissions such as notification so that it can sound when it is blocked. Once we’ve done this we’ll see the application’s main screen where all of the alarms we have set are displayed. To set up a new alarm simply click on the ‘+’ in the bottom right-hand corner.
Once we are in the alarm configuration window, the most interesting part of this application is undoubtedly the ‘mission’ section. Here we’ll find different challenges that we’ll face every morning so that the alarm can be silenced. In other words, if we want to stop the alarm we don’t have to press a single button but have to solve an equation, take a picture or shake the mobile. In particular, the different missions we find are the following:
- Shake: As the name suggests, you must shake your iPhone a number of times to defend yourself. In addition, you can choose the sensitivity when detecting the movements to know with which force you must move the mobile.
- Take a picture: with this option we will be totally forced to get out of bed. We can choose to select a photograph to our fridge or to the sink so that we have to get out of bed and leave our room. It is true that we must be careful with which object we choose to photograph because if we choose a plane that varies with the light may not be detected perfectly.
- Mathematical problems: if you want to start the day with a head turn, this is the right mission. You can choose to silence the alarm by solving a mathematical equation that can be very simple to solve or you need to have a calculator at hand to do it.
- Bar code/QR code: if you have toothpaste or a book on the shelf, it also has a bar code. You can scan it with the application and if you want to mute it you simply have to scan that barcode every morning. This is also a good system to force you to get out of bed.
- Memory games: as in the case of equations, with this mission you will also start the day by training your mind. With this challenge you will have to memorize the location of some cards and click on them so that the alarm is silenced. Obviously its difficulty will also vary according to your tastes.
The rest of the options are quite similar to what we find in the native application of the alarm in our mobile. For example we can select which day of the week should be repeated and also the sound that will emit the alarm. We must say that there are both very subtle music and strong alarm sounds that are certainly highly recommended for those people who have a fairly deep sleep.
